Who We Are

The Psychoanalytic Couple Psychotherapy Group (PCPG) began in 1999 and was founded by a group of Bay Area clinicians who had completed a three-year course of study with Tavistock Relationships. PCPG has been hosting the Annual Psychoanalytic Couple Psychotherapy Lecture since 2008. In 2010, the clinicians launched an intensive study program, open to licensed and experienced psychotherapists who demonstrated an interest in learning more about the challenging work of couple relationships. Since 2010, PCPG has graduated four cohorts of students, who have continued to study in the evolving PCPG community of psychoanalytic couple psychotherapists.

In 2019, PCPG became a non-profit (501C3) organization. As a non-profit, PCPG is committed to promoting the education, training and practice of psychoanalytic couple psychotherapy; to encourage  interest in psychoanalytic couple psychotherapy in the public and in professional communities; and to provide a community to support the collaboration and professional development of the individual members.
